Sunday, October 25, 2020 – Saturday, October 31, 2020
(Final Restoration Phase
 Activity):
  • Preparation work for the proposed downspout connection to the existing collector pipe in span 1, at the south bridge.

  • Patching operation for concrete deck, under span 14, at the south bridge.

  • Stripping and removing formwork from the underside of the proposed strip seal join at pier 2 north bridge.

  • Painting the jacking angles at pier 2 and 14, at the north bridge.

  • Stripping and removing formwork from the underside of the bridge sidewalk in span 2, at the north bridge.

  • Repairing the cracked weld on the existing stringer at the west abutment south bridge between interior and exterior girders.

  • Painting the proposed downspouts in span 2 and 3, at the north bridge.

  • Repairing various portions on median barrier from spans 13 and 14 for the repair of concrete.

  • Removing asphalt and existing graded aggregate base (GAB) from the gorge areas between west and east bound at East Capitol Street.

  • Reinstallation light poles at the west gorge area.

  • Removal of the work platform from pier 3, at the south bridge.

  • Painting operation on the existing north fascia girder in span 1, at the north bridge.

  • Removal of ramps A, B and C and painting the jacking angles at the east abutment on the north, south and ramp C bridges.  

  • Installation of two light pole foundations.

  • Saw cutting the existing roadway section east of the bridge for the proposed double face median barrier.

  • Patching the underside of the existing deck drain concrete in span 14, at the north bridge.

  • Dismantling and removing the work platform from pier 3 and 4, at the south bridge.

  • Patching of the existing cribbing anchor bolts location at pier 3 at the north bridge, east and west faces.

Sunday, October 18, 2020 – Saturday, October 24, 2020
(Phase 3 and Final Restoration Phase
 Activity):
  • Installation of historic rail at ramp C bridge.

  • Installation of epoxy coated reinforcing steel for the proposed end rail section footing at ramp C

  • Installation of anchor bolts in spans 14 and 15, underneath deck repair.

  • Painting the jacking angles at pier 13, at the south bridge and demobilizing the bed-well screed.

  • Installation of the pedestrian railing on the south bridge and ramp c bridge in spans 6 through 15.

  • Assembled and installation of sign panel for over-head signs.

  • Drilling grooved deck between spans 4 through 8

  • Patching deck with type 2 concrete under span 14, at the north and south bridge.

  • Installation of the downspouts for the proposed drainage scupper in span 13.

  • Installation of neoprene strip seals at piers 14 and 15.

  • Installation of the sidewalk plates on the south bridge sidewalk in spans 10 to 15.

  • Completion of the traffic switch onto the south bridge.

  • Painting the proposed downspouts in span 13, at the south bridge.

  • Continued general clean up of site and pedestrian sidewalk on the south, of the south bridge.

  • Installation of 3 overhead sign structures and sign panels at different locations.

  • Painting the existing south fascia girder and jacking angles at span 14.

  • Removal of the work platform and demolish shielding from pier 2, at the south bridge.

Sunday, October 11, 2020 – Saturday, October 17, 2020
(Phase 3 Activity):
  • Installation of bid-well supports for ramp C overlay.

  • Removal of demolition shields from scuppers between piers 11 through 12.

  • Installation of neoprene seal at piers 13 and 14 at the south bridge.

  • Installation of downspouts pipers and strip seals between piers 11 and 12.

  • Placement of temporary asphalt at approach ends.

  • Placement of latex modified concrete (LMC) on ramp C between span 14.

  • Patching underneath deck at ramp C at piers 13 and 14.

  • Installation of pedestrian railings at multiple spans and assemble the structural posts for signs.

  • Installation of overhead sign structures.

  • Installation of historic railing between spans 14 and 15.

Sunday, October 4, 2020 – Saturday, October 10, 2020
(Phase 3 Activity):
  • Forming the backside of the proposed barrier on the south wingwall south bridge and the north wingwall at the ramp C bridge.

  • Installation of the epoxy reinforcing steel for the proposed half section curb barrier on the proposed south wingwall, south bridge and the north wingwall at the ramp C bridge.

  • Preparation of deck surface.

  • Installation of epoxy coated reinforcing steel for the proposed half face jersey barriers on the east approach slab, south bridge off the bridge at the west side of the south bridge.  

  • ‘Touch-Up’ painting of the pedestrian railing between piers 7 to 8.

  • Placement of latex modified concrete (LMC) overlay and deck repair at span 13.

  • Placement of lightweight concrete for the proposed curb barrier on the south bridge, east approach and on the south bridge, south wingwall

  • Installation of downspout in spans 7, 9 and 10.

  • Installation of railings, surface preparation and underside repair.

  • Installation of the neoprene strip seals at piers 10 and 11.

  • Setting up the overhead sign structures.

  • Installation of historic and pedestrian railings and touch up paint.

  • Installation of strip seal of downspout in spans 9, 10, and 11.

  • Placement for the proposed deck slabs in spans 14 and 15 at the ramp C bridge.

  • Stripping and removing the curing protection from the latex modified concrete (LMC) in spans 14 and 15 at the south bridge.

  • Removal and repositioned the screed machine from the south bridge, to the ramp C bridge in spans 14 and 15.

  • Hand chipping and removing the remaining existing latex modified concrete (LMC) at the toe of the new bridge curb in spans 14 and 15.

Sunday, September 27, 2020 – Saturday, October 3, 2020
(Phase 3 Activity):
  • Installation of CIP downspouts in spans 4, 5, 6 and 7, at the north and south bridges.

  • Placement of lightweight concrete for strip seal joints at piers 13 and 14, at the south bridge.

  • Filling historic railing pockets at spans 11 and 12, at the south bridge.

  • Prepping deck surface, railing installations and approach slab reconstruction was continued.

  • Grading the subgrade material and forming the proposed sleeper slab for the east approach slab at the south bridge.

  • Assembling and fabricating the epoxy rebar cage for the proposed sleeper slab at the east approach, at the south bridge.

  • Replacement of the strip seal joint in span 15, at the south bridge.

  • Completion of the formwork for the proposed sleeper slab, at the east approach slab, at the south bridge.

  • Installation of the epoxy coated rebars for the sidewalk.

  • Flame cutting and removing the existing armor joint at the east abutment at the south bridge.

  • Installation of historic railing, deck preparation, grooving deck surface and forming the approach slab.

  • Installation of neoprene seal and slab epoxy coated rebars.

  • Prepping the east approach slab, at the south bridge.

  • Backfilling and compacting along the sides of the sleeper slab.

  • Installation of the proposed neoprene strip seal in the proposed strip seal joints at piers 7 and 8, at the south bridge.

  • Installation of the epoxy coated reinforcing steel for the proposed east approach slab, at the south bridge.

  • Drilling at the mechanical deck grooving operation on the new deck slabs on the south bridge between spans 3 and 5.

  • Painting the jacking angles and bolts at pier 6, at the south bridge.
