(Phase 2 Activity):

Removal of the overhang brackets and bridge sidewalk formwork at pier 8, north bridge.

Installation of the pedestrian railing at spans 3, 5, 6 and 7 on the north bridge.

Stripping and removal of the timber work platform at pier 8 on the north and south bridges.
-
Hand chipping the bridge deck at spans 8 - 11 for repair.
-
Shot blasting and cleaning of the existing milled deck slabs in spans 8 - 11.
-
Prepping of the deck for latex modified concrete overlay at spans 8 - 12.
-
Resetting of existing railing on the north bridge.
-
Placing of latex modified concrete for the proposed bridge decks in spans 8 and 9 on the north bridge.
Sunday, April 19, 2020 – Saturday, April 25, 2020
(Phase 2 Activity):
-
Removal of a total of 8 existing rivets from the top and bottom flanges of the existing floor beams.
-
Drilling for pedestrian railing bolts at spans 8 and 10 on the north bridge.
-
Installation of the jacking angles at pier 11 on the south bridge, spans 11 and 12.
-
Installation of the screed railing for the finishing machine in spans 1 and 2 on the north bridge.
-
Shot blasting of the existing milled deck surface in spans 1 and 2.
-
Milling span 8 through the east approach north bridge.
-
Loading of materials and equipment off site at spans 8 - 15 in preparation for milling.
-
Stripping and removal of the overhang brackets and sidewalk formwork from the sidewalk closure pours at piers 11 and 12 on the north bridge.
-
Stripping of the timber overhang formwork and brackets from spans 12 and 13 on the north bridge.
-
Hand chipping and removal of the remaining existing overlay along the curb and parapet edge in spans 8 and 9.
Sunday, April 12, 2020 – Saturday, April 18, 2020
(Phase 2 Activity):
-
Installation of jacking angles at piers 9 and 10, south bridge.
-
Removal of 16 existing rivets in the top and bottom flanges of the existing floor beams for the interior and exterior girders.
-
Setting up screed railing.
-
Pressure washing in spans 4 and 5 for overlay on the north bridge.
-
Curing of sidewalk behind both west and east single face barriers.
-
Median repair on the south bridge.
-
Deck repairs and overlay at span 6, north bridge (overlaid surface was covered with a single layer of clean wet burlap and then later followed by polyethylene plastic).
-
Drilling for historical bridge railing anchor bolts at spans 14 and 15.
-
Grouting blockouts under historical bridge railing anchor plate at spans 12 and 13.
-
Installation of historical bridge railing at span 15 (north bridge) and drilling for proposed 42” pedestrian railing bolts at spans 7 and 8.
-
Prepping span 5 on the north bridge for the upcoming placement of Latex-Modified Concrete overlay.
-
Placement of Latex Modified Concrete overlay at span 5 on the north bridge.
-
Received and stockpiled overhead sign structures at the westbound gore area.
-
Tensioning bolts in the jacking angles at pier 9, south bridge.
-
Repairing of the electrical conduit encountered at pier 12 in the median barrier on the north bridge.
-
Replacement of the electrical cable and ground wire between the existing streetlight junction boxes in spans 11 – 14.
-
Pulling of new ground cable between the junction box in span 14 and and the junction box in span 12.
-
Wiring in median barrier at pier 11 for streetlight repair.
Sunday, April 5, 2020 – Saturday, April 11, 2020
(Phase 2 Activity):
-
Assembling of Bidwell concrete paver, working bridge for concrete overlay and “Dry-Run” of the paver at spans 6 and 7.
-
Removal of existing armored joints at piers 8, 9 and 11.
-
Saw cutting and chipping of identified areas of the existing bridge deck for repair at span 5 and 15.
-
Resetting existing pedestrian railings at spans 11 and 12.
-
Drilling for historical bridge railing at spans 10 – 13.
-
Grouting block out under historical bridge railing anchor plate at spans 9, 10, 12 and 13.
-
Cleaning and loading of materials and equipment out of spans 8 – 15, north bridge.
-
Removal of debris from the deck in preparation of upcoming deck shot blasting operation.
-
Power washing of deck between spans 1 – 7 for future placement of latex-modified concrete overlay.
-
Assembling and installation of metallic forms for single-face barrier wall at the east abutment.
-
Demolition and installation of forms for half face barrier at west abutment.
-
Repair of median cable at pier 12 and removal of solar sensors from lamps along the median light.
-
Relocation of barges from shore to pier 10 and from pier 6 to pier 3.
-
Prepared sidewalk at the east abutment.
-
Repairing of the south bridge median barrier.
-
Placement of 1 ¼’ of latex modified concrete overlay on the bridge deck between piers 6 and 7, span 7 on the north bridge on a prepared surface.
-
Cleaning and wetting burlap, removing Bidwell barrier brackets and screed rails from span 7 and installation on span 5 (work performed from 2:00pm – 10:00pm).
-
Assembling and installation of formwork at the bases of the historic railing between spans 13 and 14 for the future placement of grout and light-weight concrete.
