Sunday, November 22, 2020 – Saturday, November 28, 2020
(Final Restoration Phase Activity):

  • Continued to strip the work platform at pier 11 and pier 12 at the south bridge.

  • Patching the underside of the bridge sidewalk. 

  • Stripping seal joints in span 10 and 13 at the north and south bridge.

  • Installation of trees adjacent to the pedestrian path on NPS property.

  • Placement of concrete mix for the median barrier base at the east approach.

  • Installation of the downspout in span 15 north bridge and the ramp C bridge.

  • Continued the median barrier work at the east approach.

  • Installation of permanent pavement marking on south and north bridge.

  • Installation of stone masonry east approach wing walls.

  • Painting the downspout at Kingman Island, span 2 and span 12 at the north and south bridge.

  • Placement of a membrane and rusted steel grates in the maintenance platform on the Ramp C bridge span 15, west abutment.

  • Installation of light poles at the median of the gorge area and its accessories.

  • Installation of cast iron down sprout at span 8.

  • Patching concrete spalls underneath deck at span 1.

  • Concrete repairs in span 10 south bridge, span 1 south bridge and pier 11 south bridge, west face.

Sunday, November 15, 2020 – Saturday, November 21, 2020
(Final Restoration Phase Activity):

  • Repairing the deck underneath in span 1.

  • Stripping and removing the work platforms from piers 9 and 10 at the south bridge.

  • Installation of the downspouts at span 14.

  • Hand mixing and patching the underside of the deck.

  • Installation of the proposed downspout under the new bridge scupper in span 14 and 15, at the ramp C bridge.

  • Installation of the epoxy-coated tie bars into median pavement between stations at the east approach.

  • Painting portions of the north fascia girder, span 14, at the north bridge.

  • Installation of dowels into the existing pavement to install base of median barrier at the east approach.

  • Installation of tie rods from existing pavement into proposed base of median barrier.

  • Placement of topsoil at the green areas.

  • Restoration activities continued at the east and west approach.

  • Grading gore areas, clean-up and removed attenuator.

  • Back-filling base of stone masonry wing wall at the east approach.

Sunday, November 8, 2020 – Saturday, November 14, 2020
(Final Restoration Phase Activity):

  • Continue to remove temporary asphalt concrete (AC) from temporary ramps A, B and C median area between the ramp to I-295 northbound and west gore.

  • Replacement of the existing steel grates in the maintenance bay platform in span 1, at the south bridge, west abutment.

  • Patching repairs of the underside of the bridge deck in span 14, at the south bridge.

  • Cleaning the existing maintenance bay grates in span 1, north bridge, at pier 1.

  • Continued to regrade the existing median area between the east gore area.

  • Painting the drainage scupper under span 1, at the south bridge.

  • Removal of the temporary reinforced concrete pipe (RCP) at the temporary roads.

  • Installation of new support beam under the existing maintenance bay platform in span 1, south bridge, west abutment.

  • Installation of the stone masonry at the proposed north and south wingwalls south bridge and the ramp C bridge.

  • Completed the installation of the downspout under the bridge scupper and the existing collector pip at the west abutment, at the north bridge, span 1.

  • Stripping and removing the formwork from under spans 6 and 7.

  • Installation of the downspout pipe and 90-degree bend under the proposed bridge scupper in span 1, south bridge, at the west abutment.

  • Patching repairs at various locations under span 14, at the south bridge between girders A1 and B1.

  • Installation of the masonry stone on the east approach wing wall.

  • Resetting the existing masonry on the proposed south wingwall at the south bridge.

Sunday, November 1, 2020 – Saturday, November 7, 2020
(Final Restoration Phase Activity):

  • Cleaning and removing the temporary work platforms at piers 7 and 8, of the north and south bridge.

  • Repairing of the concrete in span 14, under the bridge deck.

  • Installation of downspout pipe and collector pipe, in span 1, of the south bridge.

  • Continuation of restoration work at east and west gore.

  • Prepping for the replacement of the cast iron pipe between the proposed deck scupper and the existing collector pipe in span 1, of the north bridge.

  • Removal of a section of the existing collector at the downspout location at the west abutment.

  • Repairing of the concrete on the median barriers.

  • Stripping and removing the timber work platform at pier 4, on the span 5 side.

  • Continuation of the repairs on the west face and cap of pier 14, at the south bridge.

  • Installation of the metallic forms for the proposed barrier at west gore.

  • Patching of the underside of the existing bridge deck in span 14, at the south bridge.

  • Painting of the cast iron downspouts in span 1, at the north and south bridges.
